Our story

Deisy Jimenez is a dedicated and accomplished equestrian whose passion for horsemanship began at just two years old in Eugene, Oregon. Under the early guidance of Mike Gallaway, Deisy quickly developed both her love for horses and the foundation of her riding career. At age 12 her family relocated to Washington, where she continued her training at Hillcrest Training and her talent, determination, and passion for the sport continued to flourish.

With a lifetime of experience in the saddle, Deisy has ridden everything from ponies to green horses and spent much of her junior career catch riding for others. She has competed successfully across all three rings, developing into a versatile rider with a strong foundation in horsemanship, training, and competition.
Deisy takes great pride in thoughtfully matching horses and riders, believing that every horse is an individual with unique strengths, needs, and quirks. Rather than riding every horse exactly the same way, she takes the time to understand each horse’s personality, way of going, and learning style, adapting her approach to help them feel confident and successful. Her patience and willingness to work through the challenges that come with quirky or unconventional horses are central to her program and reflect her belief that the best partnerships are built through trust, communication, and individualized care.

Deisy’s competitive accomplishments began early in her career. She was the Children’s World Champion Hunter Rider in 2009 and was selected for the Emerging Athletes Program in 2012 at just 15 years old. She qualified for the West Coast Pony Finals from 2008 to 2010 and consistently earned a place at Capital Challenge from 2008 to 2012. In addition to her success in the hunter ring, Deisy has achieved significant results in the jumper arena, including a Grand Prix victory at The Cascade Finals in Cle Elum, Washington. She has also earned multiple derby wins and numerous championships and awards throughout her career, demonstrating her competitive edge and well-rounded skill set.

Throughout her career, Deisy has had the privilege of learning from some of the sport’s most respected professionals, including Joan Curtin, Nancy Free, Philipa Melski, Jim Dalquist, and many others. In 2010, she participated in the Trainers Symposium, working with esteemed clinicians Julie Winkel and Jenny Karazissis. While attending George Fox University in Oregon, she further developed her riding under Rob Perkins. Most recently, Deisy continued her education and development through mentorship from Joan Curtin, gaining invaluable knowledge and experience in both the hunter and jumper rings.

At the heart of Deisy’s journey is a deep love for her family. She is endlessly grateful to her parents, whose unwavering support made her lifelong pursuit of horses possible. Their encouragement, sacrifices, and belief in her dreams have been a constant source of strength and inspiration, both in and out of the saddle.

Since starting her own program, Deisy has continued adding to her long list of accomplishments, but some of her proudest moments have come through the success of her riders. In her first year, she qualified one of her junior riders for Junior Hunter Finals and had the opportunity to coach at Pony Finals in Lexington, Kentucky. Her passion for teaching has only continued to grow, and she looks forward to helping more of her riders reach these major milestones while building confident, capable horsemen and women along the way.

Now married, Deisy is thrilled to continue building her equestrian career while sharing her passion for horses with her husband, whose support and enthusiasm mean the world to her. Outside the barn, she enjoys slowing down with a good puzzle and binge-watching reality TV.
